Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson have pulled the plug on their 8 years of marriage! According to the legal docs obtained by the media outlet Page Six, Tina booked it to a Los Angeles County court on Wednesday to officially end her 8-year marriage to Richard Lawson.
In the court documents, Knowles mentioned Tuesday as the date of their separation. In addition to this, she cited the usual “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation.
Tina who is a businesswoman is asking the court to not provide any spousal support to her or her soon-to-be ex-husband. The pair doesn’t share any kids. As of this moment, neither Knowles nor Richard has issued an official statement on their split.
The breakup rumors of the couple began going around in circles earlier this month after the eagle-eyed fans noticed that Knowles didn’t accompany her husband on his press tour for “Black Terror.”
Along with this, the fans also observed that Tina had changed her Instagram bio from Tina Lawson back to Tina Knowles. However, her actual username still contains her married name. The two of them haven’t shared any pictures of each other on their Instagram feeds since March 2023.
Despite having known each other for decades, Knowles and Lawson didn’t spark romance rumors until 2013. They started dating during the same year. The two of them walked down the aisle two years later in Newport Beach, California on a yacht.

Before sparking a romance with the Hollywood actor Richard Lawson, Tina was married to Mathew Knowles. They crossed paths for the first time in the mid-70s in Houston. The pair tied the knot in the year 1980. The former couple pulled the plug on their marriage after over 30 years of marital bliss.
The exes share two daughters: Beyoncé and Solange. Tina and her former spouse Mathew welcomed their first child together, daughter Beyoncé in 1981. Their second child, daughter Solange joined them earthside in 1986.
Beyoncé’s parents were heavily involved in her music career since her Destiny’s Child days. Mathew was the co-founder of the group. This year, Beyoncé made history at the 2023 Grammy Awards by breaking the record for most wins by a single artist.
In her award-winning speech, the Break My Soul singer gave a sweet shoutout to her parents. At that time, she said, “I’d like to thank my parents, my father, my mother for loving me and pushing me.”
