Beyoncé surpasses her husband Jay-Z to become the most-nominated artist in Grammys history
Beyoncé is officially the most nominated artist in the history of Grammys. On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, the Run The World singer lead the list of nominees with a total of 9 nods which made her surpass her hubby Jay-Z as the most nominated music act in the history of the awards show.
For those of you who are unaware, let us tell you, Beyoncé already holds the record for most Grammy wins in history with 28. And now with three new nominations, her husband Jay-Z has a total of 86 nominations and 24 wins in his kitty.
On the other hand, when we talk about Beyoncé, she had 79 nominations under her belt before the announcement of nominees for Grammys 2023. Recently, she has been nominated in nine categories. As of this moment, she has a total of 88 nominations, making her the most Grammy-nominated artist of all time.
Let us share with you, Beyoncé is one of the most celebrated women in the history of Grammys. As of right now, she has 28 wins. Next year, she can break the record of the late Hungarian-British conductor Georg Solti for most wins by winning four more awards. Georg Solti has 31 Grammys and she has held on to the record since the year 1997.
Beyoncé led the list of nominees for Grammys 2023
For the Grammys 2023, Beyoncé has been nominated in a total of nine categories including Renaissance for album of the year as well as best dance/electronic music album, her smashing hit sing Break My Soul nabbed record, and song of the year nominations.
In addition to this, her song Break My Soul also bagged a nomination for best dance/electronic recording. Beyoncé also got nominated for best R&B performance for Virgo’s Groove.
Beyoncé also reeled in nominations for best traditional R&B performance for Plastic Off the Sofa and best R&B song for her song Cuff It Up. Last but not the least, she got nominated for best song written for visual media for her song Be Alive (from King Richard).
Kendrick Lamar came in the second spot with a total of eight nominations. Both Adele and Brandi Cardi picked up seven nods. Harry Styles, Mary J. Blige, Future, DJ Khaled, The-Dream, and mastering engineer Randy Merrill bagged six nods each.
