Below Deck icon, Kate Chastain is back with a big life update. The former chief stewardess shared the big news with her followers on Instagram.
The Bravo star used to be the face of the nautical franchise for many years until she did not feel the enthusiasm anymore. She left the industry after she fell out of love with it and bid farewell in 2020.
The Netflix show, Below Deck, provided the quarantined masses with an escape and luxurious entertainment. The show focused on crew members’ lives and how they handled difficult passengers and their demands. Kate Chastain had quickly become a fan favorite.

The 39-year-old shared a selfie with a baby bump and a pout. She captioned it “I’m already planning so many birthday theme parties for you 💗💙💗💙”. The picture has gotten almost 200,000 likes in under 20 hours! The soon-to-be mother has not shared who the father of the baby is or whether he will be a part of the child’s life or not.
The Florida native also gave an exclusive interview to People magazine. She said “I am absolutely thrilled to become a mother. It’s something I’ve always hoped for so this is truly a dream come true!” She is all ready to welcome the new member in May 2023.
What Is She Upto These Days?
Her yachting career began in 2007 when she decided to take a gap year after college and work on boats. But once she began working as a third stewardess on a yacht, she never looked back.
The TV star was a part of the Below Deck show for over 6 seasons straight before she left the show in 2020. After that, she became a co-host on Bravo’s Chat Room, but she left the late-night talk show in 2021.
Currently, she appears alongside other costars from Below Deck on the watch-back series Galley Talk.
Previous Relationships
In the early seasons of the show, she famously dated her costar chef Ben Robinson. However, by the time season 4 rolled around, she admitted that she had fallen for a woman. She dated Ro Hernandez before breaking up in 2016.
Kate insisted that she wants to stay away from labels and does not like to be called a lesbian or bisexual.
She had a major fight with her now ex-girlfriend Hernandez where the police had to be called and Kate even got arrested. TMZ reported that Kate “tried to kick her drunk girlfriend out of their house and when she refused, Kate bit her in the forearm, bicep and leg. Cops said Kate also put a knee on her head, choked her, and tried to stop her breathing.”
The charges were later dropped in 2017.
For now, Kate is focused on preparing for the baby due in a few months. After the arrival of the newborn, a mother is usually quite busy at least for the coming few months. Since she has chosen to share the good news with the rest of the world, her fans are hopeful that they will get more glimpses into her journey to being a mother.
