BAFTA TV Awards 2022: The Full List of Nominations is Here

The awards season is officially back baby! We can’t wait to see all of our favorite celebs under one roof again. When we talk about the BAFTA TV Awards 2022, the award show will be organized in May.

When will the BAFTA TV Awards 2022 be held?

This year, the BAFTA TV Craft Awards will take place on April 24, followed by the BAFTA TV Awards on May 8 (Sunday). Last year, both of these award ceremonies happened virtually because of the pandemic but things are going to be different this year. The award show will be hosted by Richard Ayoade for the third consecutive year. The full red carpet will be back at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

The critically acclaimed drama by Russell T. Davies It’s A Sin that is about the Aids epidemic in the U.S leads the list of nominees from the front. The series was released on Channel 4 and HBO Max at the start of 2021. It has received a total of 11 nominations, six in the TV awards and the rest five in Craft awards.

The series It’s A Sin has earned nominations in categories such as director: fiction, mini-series, and five in the performance categories. Congrats to the whole team of It’s A Sin for getting 11 nominations. Winning and losing an award is the part and parcel of life but even being nominated is a pretty big deal.

More Details about the nominees for BAFTA TV Awards 2022

Olivia Colman’s true-crime miniseries Landscapers bagged a total of seven nominations across TV and Craft awards. This series got nominated in categories like director fiction, original music, leading actor, and mini-series.

Next in line is Jodie Comer’s film Help, which secured six nominations. Jimmy McGovern’s three-part prison drama Time also got a total of six nominations. Further down the road, is Netflix’s comedy Sex Education with five nominations including for Aimee Lou Wood and Ncuti Gatwa.

A Very British Scandal came away with four nods. This series revolves around the notorious divorce of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll during the 1960s. It is based on John Preston’s 2016 book of the same name.

This time, we have nearly 28 first-time BAFTA nominees but we also have one familiar face on the same list. Let us give you a hint this superstar has won three BAFTA film awards from six nominations in the past.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s Kate Winslet, yes you heard it right. This is the first time that she has received recognition on the small screen for Mare of Easttown. She essayed the role of Mare Sheehan in the crime drama limited series.

We are super excited to see all the celebs on the red carpet of the BAFTA TV Awards soon. It’s surely going to be one great star-studded night.
