A new name has just joined the cast of Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ show Agatha: Coven of Chaos. According to Deadline, Patti LuPone has joined the cast in an unknown role and will appear in Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as Agatha Harkness again after featuring as the primary antagonist in WandaVision.

Rumors suggest Patti LuPone will play a role of a witch in the show, and there will be many other sorcerers and witches in the show. Her cast comes with speculation of the studio does have massive plans for the music.
LuPone’s casting might suggest that some big plans are in store for the music of Agatha: Coven of Chaos. LuPone’s vast experience in musical theater will prove to be decisive.
Back in WandaVision, the “Agatha All Along” song grabbed the Emmy for its original song. Marvel will try to replicate that success again with this magic-themed show as well. But still, Marvel has made no comments regarding LuPone’s role in the show.
The Confirmed Cast of Agatha: Coven of Chaos
The series has a massive cast with some big names. Kathryn Hahn and Emma Caulfield Ford will reprise their role in the Disney+ show. The massive cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, and Sasheer Zamata other than Patti LuPone. But none of their roles are revealed yet by the showrunner.
Rumors are also suggesting that Elizabeth Olsen will return to her role again as Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch. Wanda’s fate is still unknown in the MCU after getting disappeared in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness.
When to Expect Agatha: Coven of Chaos?
The filming of the show is set to begin in mid-January 2023, at Trilith Studios in Atlanta under Jac Schaeffer and Gandja Monteiro’s direction. More casting details will eventually come out at the beginning of the next year.
The Marvel Studios has not given any confirmed release date. They just disclosed that the show will release in late 2023. The show will exclusively be available on Disney+ as one of its original shows.
Where is Agatha Now in the MCU?
Agatha last fought against Wanda but was overpowered by chaos magic. Despite being a villain in the series, In the series, Wanda locked Agatha in herself and forced her to stay as a normal human being. Before getting sealed by Chaos magic, Agatha warned her that she will be needed again.
The series may mix Agatha’s detailed past with her current scenario. But most people expect her role will be more of an antihero in the MCU just like in the comics.
After WandaVison’s success, the studio announced a spin-off series for Agatha Harkness with the title of Agatha: House of Harkness. But the studio decided to change the name later.
In the comics, Agatha is a sorcerer who is also a nanny to Franklin Richards. She later became a teacher to Wanda and taught her chaos magic. Thanks to her, Wanda became Scarlet Witch, and the show followed that plotline as well. But she met a tragic end in the comics. Wanda ended up killing her teacher in the end.
