Wait, what’s happening? There’s a live-action movie about Pac-Man happening and you’re definitely going to love it. It’s a maze action video game from the 1980s that gamers at the time absolutely adored. And now it’ll be like a dream sequence.
The player controls Pac-Man, who must eat all of the dots inside an enclosed maze while avoiding four different colored ghosts. The game was extremely popular at the time, and many other projects appeared as a result of its initial success.
Eating large flashing dots known as “Power Pellets” temporarily turns the ghosts blue, allowing Pac-Man to eat them for bonus points. To appeal to younger players, the in-game characters were designed to be cute and colorful.
We’ve seen video games adapted into movies, but the final choice is a long-winded one. Let’s delve deeper into this upcoming live-action movie.
A Live-Action ‘Pac-Man’ Movie Is In Development
According to reports, the production of a live-action Pac-Man movie has been considered and is currently in the works. The official updates on the story have been kept under wraps, but it will come as a surprise.
Bandai Namco Entertainment and Wayfarer Studios collaborated on the movie, which stars the yellow pellet-eating champion. Chuck Williams, one of the producers of Sonic the Hedgehog in 2020, came up with the idea for the movie.
Obviously, the writers, directors, and even the cast have yet to be announced, but we should know more soon. And looks like there’s a cute Pac-Man all set to make its appearance on the big screen.
Wayfarer Studios, which recently announced a $125 million investment to fuel additional strategic growth, is best known for producing the 2020 Disney+ original movie Clouds, directed by Baldoni, which was the worldwide platform’s first-ever narrative acquisition.
How Is The Audience Reacting To The New Update?
There have been a lot of talks and even suprise about this new movie. Pac-Man spawned a huge queue of sequels, remakes, and re-imaginings, making it one of the most successful video game franchises of all time. And the audience has their own theories as well.
One wrote, “My hope is that the Pac-Man movie is not live action in the sense that it’s ‘Pac-Man comes to OUR world’ but rather the locations and sets are live actions but all the characters are animated. Like it’s adapting Pac-Man World in the vein of Detective Pikachu or mostly Sonic 2.”

Another person believes, “let me guess: PAC-man is going to team up with a dude who’s inherited a haunted farm, or some shit, and there’s gonna be a scene where he and the farmer are being chased through a corn maze by some ghosts.”
