50 Cent Is Developing a TV Series Adaptation of 8 Mile With the Permission of Eminem

8 Mile is returning with a TV series as 50 Cent confirmed the TV adaptation of the semi-autobiographical film with Eminem. 8 Mile is based on Eminem’s life and his struggle to become a rapper.

In an interview with BigBoyTV on Friday, rapper 50 Cent revealed the news of the development of a tv series based on 8 Mile. He spoke: “We’re in motion. It’s gonna be big… You know, I ain’t got no duds.” Jackson’s words have surely assured the fans, as they can look forward to a series with a star cast that may do justice to the movie’s legacy.

The rapper also told that Eminem was also interested to transform the film into a series. According to the rapper, convincing Eminem was not a big issue for him.

50 Cent spoke about the importance of the film: “I think it should be there for his legacy, because if you don’t see… it’s important to me that they understand it”

Modern Touch to the Plot

Curtis James Jackson III, aka 50 Cent also confirmed that the series will be a modern adaptation of the film. So, the background and the setting will be different from the original film. He revealed: “It’s a modern version”. The American rapper compared the upcoming series to the 2022 drama Bel-Air which is a modern adaptation of the 1990s television sitcom series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. 

50 Cent also gave away a few details. He spoke: “I wanna be able to show and offer a lot more details — things that you would say in an interview or different things that you’ve already used that you put out there and stuff like that.” The star rapper also added: “You’ll see those things kind of surface in the temperament of the characters.”

8 Mile follows the rapping journey of a boy, Jimmy who has a massive talent for rapping. He starts his rapping career at a local hip-hop battle in Detroit. The film captures the ground-level Rapping culture in the U.S. and records a part of Eminem’s life before becoming famous. 

Grammy-winning “Rap God” Eminem also made his feature film debut with this film and played the role of Jimmy excellently. The plot also keeps the audience engaged in the film and connects with people as well.

The Star Cast of the Film

The film was directed by Curtis Hanson and Kim Basinger, Michael Shannon, Mekhi Phifer, Brittany Murphy, and Anthony Mackie all joined the star cast of the film with Marshall Bruce Mathers III, aka, Eminem. After the film’s release under Universal Pictures, it became an instant box-office hit. The film’s soundtrack also dominated the Billboard album charts. Nowadays the film is called a cult classic. 

The official plot synopsis on Amazon Prime Video suggests: “Grammy Award-winning phenomenon Eminem makes his feature film debut in this gripping story about the boundaries that hold us back — and the courage that can set us free.”

Viewers can easily stream the 8 Mile film on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and YouTube. Right now, no cast or release date has been announced yet from any of these two music stars.
