The 2023 BET Awards will be held on June 25, at the Microsoft Theater. The award show which describes itself as the “ultimate platform to showcase the best, brightest and most beautiful aspects of the Black experience,” will be broadcasted live from Los Angeles this weekend on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on BET.
Busta Rhymes, who is a Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and actor will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2023 BET Awards. Many stars including Coi Leray, Rah Digga, Supercat, ScarLip, Spice, Cutty Ranks, Bia, Dexta Daps, Swizz, Beats, and M.O.P., will pay tribute to the Break Ya Neck rapper on Sunday night.
In a statement issued in April, Connie Orlando, BET evp of specials, music programming, and music strategy said, “For five decades, hip-hop has not only influenced American culture but has become a global phenomenon and one of the most influential musical genres of our lifetime.”
He went on to say, “From music to fashion, art, and entertainment, we are honored to have always provided a platform for hip-hop to thrive. We look forward to paying tribute to the pioneers and innovators as we amplify the new generation of hip-hop artists like only BET can.”
Usually, the BET Awards honor the music industry, but this year, the award show will consist of movie and sports categories as well. The nominees for Best Picture are as follows: Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Nope, Creed III, The Woman King, Till, and Emancipation.

The 2023 BET Awards will air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET on the BET channel. Apart from this, you can also watch the award show online on BET.com, BET+, and Paramount+.
