Director, producer, and actor, Karan Johar is on season 5 of his hit talk show, “Koffee with Karan.” As usual, this latest season of the show has already seen some juicy gossip, broken the truth regarding some rumors, and of course, given us tons of laughs in every episode. However, I’m a bit tired of seeing the same batch of celebrities every season.
How about inviting some different stars on the sets of “Koffee with Karan” besides the Khans and Kapoor’s of the industry? We’ve broken down a list of Bollywood and Hollywood stars Johar needs to call upon to attack and quiz until they break!
Check out our team’s picks for who we’d like to see on Johar’s show:
1. Kunal Nayyar and the cast of “The Big Bang Theory”
“The Big Bang Theory” is just as popular in India as it is in the United States, and we’re sure fans in India would love a chance to see this group of friends on Johar’s show. The show is one of the few on mainstream television with an Indian character a part of the lead cast. Kunal Nayyar plays Rajesh Koothrappali, an astrophysicist who can’t speak to women unless he has some alcohol in his system.
Although his character can be super stereotypical at times, he is still loveable and hilarious. It would be interesting to see Johar quiz the team.
2. Pamela Anderson and Priyanka Chopra
With PC in the remake of “Baywatch” why not bring her on with the original “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson?
The show was a big hit in India and Anderson has already been to India as a guest on the reality show “Bigg Boss.” Maybe chat about whether the film or show would be better?
Who are we kidding, the show was epic.
3. Ellen DeGeneres
Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show airs multiple times in day in India, so why not bring her to India? DeGeneres came out publicly 20 years ago so it would be interesting to see how Johar handles having her on the show when he is often questioned about his sexual orientation.
Also DeGeneres is such a sweetheart and so witty, it would be a riot to see her pitted against Johar. Johar has a lot to learn from the talented actress, television host and philanthropist.
4. Aziz Ansari and Mindy Kaling
Two Indians paving the way for the rest of the South Asian community in Hollywood are Aziz Ansari and Mindy Kaling. Both of these stars are closer to their American identity than their Indian identity but still hold their desi roots with respect. Both stars have been such trailblazer’s worthy of praise.
Instead of Johar putting them in the hot-seat, Kaling and Ansari are sure to turn the tables on him!
5. The Rock and Superwoman
Ever thought of bringing international YouTube sensation Superwoman aka Lilly Singh, and the love of her life, wrestler, actor and international rockstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on Johar’s show?
Only one word comes to mind: EPIC.
6. Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber
Many stars including Aamir Khan have come out to say that Sunny Leone’s past doesn’t affect them and they would love to work with her if the right project came along. Shah Rukh Khan called up Leone to be his laila for the remake of “Laila Main Laila” in his film “Raees.”
Clearly, Leone is moving up in the industry and we think it’s time Johar hit her and her husband up for a chat on the show. Johar even said he’d love to have here when a fan asked if he would bring Leone on “Koffee with Karan” on Twitter.
Leone and Weber were on “The Kapil Sharma Show” promoting “Raees” and we loved it. The couple was super sweet, so down to earth, and pretty funny.
7. Donald Trump and Narendra Modi
After the most controversial presidential election we’ve faced in our lifetime, why not get President Trump to hit the hot seat to see if he can survive Johar’s show.
Since Trump claims he “loves India” why not bring him to the country and team him up with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the show?
8. Deepika Padukone and Vin Diesel
Deepika Padukone and co-star Vin Diesel have gotten quite close while shooting for their film “XXX : Return of Xander Cage,” they’ve even flown to India to promote the film and attend the India premiere of the film. With such chemistry on and off screen, Johar needs to bring these new friends on his show for a little test, no?
Although Padukone has been on the show before, bringing her on with Diesel would be an interesting twist.
9. Johnny Lever and Jamie Lever
Johnny Lever may not be the most glamorous actor, but this comedic actor of the 90s is definitely uber talented and well loved. Did you know he’s got an adorable daughter who is also a comedienne?
That’s right, Jamie Lever has been on “Comedy Circus Ke Mahabali,” she is also a stand-up comedienne and she began her acting career with Kapil Sharma’s “Kis Kisko Pyaar Karo.”
She even does an awesome impression of her father—Johar needs to call up this girl ASAP!
10. The Most Epic Bollywood Villains: Shakti Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher
Bollywood heroes always get a lot of attention, but what about our evil villains? Johar needs to show these talented villains of the 90s some love. Shakti Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher played some of the most popular villains of yesteryear and today there is not a single actor who can match them.
Let’s see if Johar can stand up to these villains, or will he finally face defeat?
11. Television Ka Karans!
There are a ton of talented stars on television named Karan, including Karan Johar himself!
In honor of “Koffee with Karan” he should host a “Koffee with Karans” episode inviting the many television to chat, gossip and see how much they have in common besides their name—they do say people with the same name tend to have similarities.
Which Karans to invite?
Well, there is Karan Singh Grover, Karan V. Grover, Karan Tacker, Karan Wahi, Karan Kundra and Karan Patel—all well known and well loved actors.
