This year is the 71st annual Cannes Film Festival which began last week on May 8th and continues on to Saturday, May 19. Bollywood stars like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor and Mallika Sherawat have attended this prestigious event for many years.

However, we’ve got quite a few newbies making their debuts like Mahira Khan, Huma Qureshi, Divya Dutta, Manish Malhotra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Dhanush, and Kangana Ranaut. Khan looked like a photoshopped angel, Dutta rocked the desi girl look, Ranaut was fierce on and off the red carpet, Qureshi took some real fashion risks and Dhanush looked so suave at each event. Each star put their best foot forward at Cannes and each look is more fabulous than the last!

Check out what the stars have been up to at Cannes:

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Rai Bachchan hits the Cannes red carpet for the 17th time, this festival veteran knows how to bring it. The actress is representing L’Oreal along with Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor. She started her Cannes weekend with this pastel, rhinestone covered off-the-shoulder maxi dress by Manish Arora for her L’Oreal shoot and morning events

Rai Bachchan looks amazing in this butterfly inspired form-fitting dress in shades of purple by Michael Cinco. The dress has a 10-foot long train!

The beauty queen opted for a sleek look with pulled back hair, scarlet lips and an all-black suit to attend some more Cannes events and press.

Rai-Bachchan donned a flowy white collared top, fitted black high waisted skirt and a sequined blazer by Manish Arora for her photo shoot with L’Oreal.

Rai Bachchan wrapped up her Cannes weekend with this extravagant ivory gown by Rami Kadi. The strapless dress was covered in silver sequined details. She paired this look with a high bun, with some questionable structure to it, how do you guys feel about this look?

Sonam Kapoor-Ahuja

After a jam-packed epic wedding, the new Mrs. Kapoor-Ahuja is back at work and looking as stunning as ever. Styled by her sister Rhea, Kapoor-Ahuja looked sweet and ethereal as usual.

She blew into the festival in this loose-fitting black and white polka-dotted dress by London’s Mother of Pearl. She looked like a 60s Barbie doll with her straight hair and large Victoria Beckham sunglasses.

Kapoor Ahuja wore an elaborate Ralph and Russo cream-colored custom couture outfit on her first red carpet appearance this year. With her hair pulled back and jewels from Chopard, she looks like a fairy-tale princess in this Swarovski crystal covered lehenga.

Kapoor Ahuja looked adorable in this fun mint green dress from Delpozo with embroidered red flowers. She donned this funky look for the auction dinner held by the NGO, Positive Planet.

Kapoor-Ahuja takes on a more fun and casual look for this cinema and beauty shoot for L’Oreal. She is wearing jeans from her husband Anand Ahuja’s clothing line, Bhane Love and a flowy white collared top from Simone Rocha.

The actress took on Cannes in this bold red and white striped Emilia Wickstead dress with beaded collar and pearl details. The belted dress with the voluminous skirt was a bold choice that worked out well for her.

Kapoor Ahuja looked like the belle of the ball with this yellow and beige tulle gown by Vera Wang which she paired with shoes by Ralph and Russo and jewels by Chopard. She definitely brought the sunshine on the red carpet in this look.

Kangana Ranaut

For her first year, Ranaut has been killing it at Cannes from her glittering black Sabyasachi sari to her embroidered, low-cut jumpsuit by Nedret Taciroglu. Ranaut rounded out her first Cannes weekend partying with Grey Goose, the brand she represented at Cannes.

She also met with film critic Anupama Chopra for an interview discussing everything from cinema to red carpet looks. Ranaut looks adorable in this polka-dot collared outfit and her curls pulled up in a messy bun.

The Queen ended her weekend with some more interviews, this time she met with Nandini Bhalla for Cosmo India at the Grey Goose villa at Cannes.

Huma Qureshi

Qureshi is taking some huge fashion risks for her first Cannes appearance and it is paying off because she looks fantastic. For the Chopard party, Qureshi wore another pantsuit, this time it was a custom made Falguni Shane Peacock embroidered suit with matching cape.

Qureshi took on the press in this asymmetrical floral dress with a wide belt and black boots. Though Qureshi’s fashion risks at Cannes may have worked out thus far, but we’re not too sure about this look.

Qureshi finally released her inner princess with this lovely golden gown by Ali Younes for the “Manto” premiere.

From princess to sexy goddess, Qureshi can pull it all off. She looked fierce in this Elio Abou Fayssal robe and slip at the Fashion for Relief charity event.

Like. Kapoor Ahuja, Qureshi also took on a red and white striped look for Cannes. Qureshi wore a red and white striped jumpsuit from Mother of Pearl as she wrapped up her Cannes weekend with some press interviews.

Mallika Sherawat

Sherawat has been working intensely to spread awareness about the organization Free a Girl India. While in Cannes she actually locked herself in a cage the size of the room young girls in India are kept when they are being abused through child prostitution and trafficking. Sherawat was locked up for 12 hours to support the “Lock Me Up”  campaign at Cannes.

The actress and activist hit the red carpet in a cute strapless pale pink gown by Yolancris.

Sherawat wore a comfy snakeskin print maxi dress for a relaxing day out in Cannes.

Sherawat headed to Microsoft co-founder, Paul Allen’s yacht party in Cannes in this fun number to dance in.

Mahira Khan

Khan makes her Cannes debut this year representing L’Oreal Pakistan. She is the first Pakistani to represent her country at Cannes, thus this is a monumental moment for Khan and Pakistan.

Khan looked elegant in this couture look by Elan and jewelry from Zohra Rahman.

Khan donned this yellow and black Solace London look with Louboutins in the sunny piers of Cannes. She looks so elegant!

As an L’Oreal ambassador for Pakistan, of course, the actress has done some fabulous photo shoots for the makeup company. Check out Khan in this Leonard Paris outfit.

Khan jokes that she can’t keep up on social media with all the updates. She showed off her inner desi girl in this lovely beige sari by Menahel and Mehreen.

Khan looks so stunning in everything it’s hard not to fall in love with this elegant and beautiful actress. Check her out in this Blumarine floral maxi dress.

Dhanush

Sonam Kapoor-Ahuja’s “Raanjhana” co-star, Dhanush has also made his Cannes debut this year. The singer and actor was at the festival to launch his new film, “The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir.” He had a relaxed vibe in this casual blazer and all white look.

The Tamil star unveiled the posters along with writer and director Ken Scott at the French Riviera. Dhanush looked stylish in his designer kurta for that desi touch.

Scott and Dhanush headed to the India Pavilion for more promotions for the film.

The men behind the film looked dapper in their suits on the red carpet.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Nawazuddin Siddiqui took over the Cannes red carpet to promote his new film “Manto” which is based on the life of the Urdu poet Saadat Hasan Manto. He opted for a detailed grey suit for the official photo call with his team at Cannes.
