Catch some laughs this summer with the hilarious British-Sri Lankan comedian Romesh Ranganathan as he makes an international move! This June, Ranganathan will bring his brand of comedy to America in a new comedy docu-series titled “Just Another Immigrant.”
The 10-part show will follow Ranganathan as he moves his entire family to Los Angeles, USA from England. The comedian is bringing his loving wife, rowdy three kids, his Sri Lankan mother and an eccentric uncle with him to rebuild his life in a new country. Starting from scratch is no small feat, Ranganathan has to adapt to a new country, and find gigs with only three months to sell it out. The docu-series portrays the true life struggles of a modern immigrant family as they make their way through adjusting to this new world. Being a talented comedian, there will be tons of laughs in this journey. This former math teacher is bringing on the dad-bod jokes, the being-brown stories and hysterical takes of his crazy family!
Let’s hope this star can build a reputation as well as he has in the British comedy circuit. Ranganathan’s comedy journey began in 2010 and a mere three years later he was nominated as Best Newcomer at the 2013 Edinburgh Comedy Awards. Since then, he has been on multiple television shows, performed on Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week and many more. His series “Asian Provocateur” which followed his adventures in Sri Lanka after his mother forced him to go find his roots, was nominated for a BAFTA award. Most recently he’s had a successful solo tour titled “Irrational” and took home the Ents24 Hardest Working Comedian of the Year award.
Co-produced by Rangabee Productions, JSA Olive Oil, and Renegade, “Just Another Immigrant” will air at 9 pm on Showtime, starting June 8.
