Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji and her husband, Aditya Chopra are very private people who tend to stay away from the public eye and social media. It looks like things are about to change.
“I’m excited to meet them, talk to them and share my film’s content with them online,” Mukerji said at the launch of the “Hichki” trailer. “Audiences, the world over, are now consuming content on digital medium. It is an extremely important and effective medium.”
After years of being requested by fans to join social media, Mukerji is finally stepping into the digital world but it seems with clear intent. This new leap comes up with the release of “Hichki’s” trailer. The film is about a young woman who, despite the difficulties that come with her Tourette’s syndrome, wants to become a teacher. She faces a lot of rejection for the disorder but she’s not about to give up, especially on the underprivileged children she teaches.

Mukerji will be making her social media debut through the “Hichki” pages. She’ll be using the Yash Raj Films and the “Hichki” pages to communicate with her fans and to promote the movie.
More Bollywood films have been incorporating disabilities and mental health issues than before however, they’re not always portrayed accurately. Let’s hope “Hichki” is more realistic and Mukerji can bring the role to life. The film will be directed Siddharth P. Malhotra and will release Feb. 23, 2018.
