Actor Kal Penn is gearing up for a brand new role. He is teaming up with NPR’s “Planet Money” founder Adam Davidson and Adam McKay to host a yet-to-be titled docuseries for Amazon Prime, which will give viewers insight into the global economy and its comedic eccentricities.
On the docuseries, Penn will “embark on an international tour of the global economy, exposing the fascinating, funny and mind-blowing ways that money plays a pivotal role in all of our lives,” according to a report on Deadline. The actor, who starred in the recently cancelled political drama “Designated Survivor” for two years, will take a deep dive into financial subjects like cryptocurrency, money laundering, corruption, and how all of it impacts the world we live in.

The series will be executive produced by McKay along with actor Will Ferrell, Eli Hozlman, Kevin Messick, Aaron Saidman, and Aliyah Silverstein.
“Look, I’m terrible at math and really good at sophomoric humor (that means dick jokes, kids!), so the idea that we can explore economics around the world by visiting places like a dildo factory in California piqued my interest,” Penn joked on the Deadline report. “To have an opportunity to explore the world while we combine the serious with the bizarre with Adam and Will is super exciting.”
No premiere date is announced for when the docuseries will air on Amazon Prime but watch this space for more updates.
